A Path from Reluctance to Passion
My crochet journey began at the age of 18 when my mom decided it was time for me to learn the craft. To be honest, I wasn’t interested at first. She had to nudge me into it, teaching me the basics forcefully. While I learned the stitches reluctantly, little did I know that those early lessons would sow the seeds of a lifelong passion.
My turning point came with my very first project—a woollen shawl. Despite being a beginner, I put my heart into it, and to my surprise, it turned out neat and beautiful. Seeing the finished piece ignited a spark of interest in me. There was something deeply satisfying about creating something so tangible and lovely with my own hands.
Years later, I took my skills to the next level by earning my Teacher's Training in Needle and Craft (TTNC) degree. That milestone marked the real start of my crochet journey. Armed with new techniques and confidence, I dove into the world of professional crocheting.
Crochet has been much more than just a craft for me—it’s been a source of solace and empowerment. It has helped me manage stress, providing a calming rhythm that keeps my mind steady. What began as a skill learned out of obligation has now become a creative outlet and a cornerstone of my life.
In my professional crochet journey, I’ve had the privilege of building a network of around 500 people, including 100 loyal clients who trust me for their projects. Each piece I create holds a personal touch, whether it’s a custom design or a classic pattern brought to life.
One of the most exciting aspects of crochet is its endless variety. I love exploring new patterns and techniques, always challenging myself to grow as an artist. Every project teaches me something new and opens doors to more creativity.
Looking back, I’m grateful for my mom’s persistence in teaching me. What started as an obligation has transformed into a passion that brings joy to my life and others. Crochet has taught me patience, perseverance, and the power of handmade artistry.
